This award is given by the General Grand Council of Cryptic Masons, International to only one deserving and distinguished Companion in each grand jurisdiction each year.  The award is based on nomination by the Grand Master of one who has truly demonstrated service, above and beyond the call of duty, on a state-wide level to Freemasonry in general, but Cryptic Freemasonry in particular.

It is the responsibility of all Companions to make nominations to the Grand Master.  The Grand Master may accept this nomination, or, if no nomination is received, make award to the Companion of his choice.
